The three secrets to reaching Weebly Phone Support

One of the differences between Squarespace and Weebly is that Weebly Support offers you the opportunity to talk to a real human in a phone conversation. Some people really prefer talking on the phone to get technical support rather than using a live chat window. I've even had a client who chose Weebly over Squarespace because of that difference.

Lately I've been hearing people complain about not being able to reach Weebly Phone Support. I have found Weebly Support very helpful over the years, but they've recently made it a little harder to reach a human. I really like Weebly as a website platform, so I thought it was time to write a blog post revealing the three secrets to get to talk to a human at Weebly without tearing your hair out.

As of May 2023, these are the call-in Support hours:
Monday - Friday: 9 AM - 9 PM EST
Saturday - Sunday: 9 AM - 9 PM EST

Secret 1. Get the right Weebly plan

You'll need to be located in the U.S. and have a Weebly Professional plan or higher to have access to Phone Support. Otherwise, you only have access to Chat (for U.S. customers) or Email Support. This is the lowest-price plan that gets rid of the Weebly branding and you get a free domain for the first year, so there are other good reasons to have this plan. To see a comparison of new plans if you aren’t already a customer, click here. If you are a customer, click the Upgrade button while editing your website to see what the next higher plan would be. Your choices depend on when you joined Weebly and the plan you’re on now.

Secret 2. Get your temporary pin

You're going to have to jump through a few hoops (and clicks) to get what you need to talk to Support. Make sure you're doing this step during call-in Support hours.

  1. Log in to Square/Weebly. (Weebly has been acquired by Square, so they are asking all clients to have a Square login account.)

  2. Open a Support window by clicking Help - Support from the website editor.

  3. Now here are the hoops. You're going to be forced to pretend that the Help articles will help you. Do a search and bring up any Help article.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the window and click “Contact us” next to “Still need help.”

  5. In the Support Assistant window, type “Contact Weebly phone support.”

  6. You’ll be given the option to click “Contact the Weebly Team.”

  7. You’ll see the page of Support options. Click “Let’s talk.”

  8. Congratulations! You've finally found the phone number to call (1-844-493-3259) and you've been issued a temporary pin that shows up at the bottom of the window.

  9. Make a note of the PIN number. You will need to enter it after you make the call. The PIN expires in 30 minutes.

  10. Make the call and enter the PIN number when asked.

Note in May 2023 - A reader has told me this procedure didn’t work for him. I gave him an alternate number I found on the Weebly community forum. You might try this number during their business hours if the previous number doesn’t work for you: 855-700-6000.

Secret 3. Find your patience

You'll need some patience while you wait to talk to your Support buddy. Wait times are usually about 15 minutes, but can be up to 30 minutes.

  1. After you’re on the call and have provided your PIN, you’ll be put on hold.

  2. Put your phone on speaker so you can settle in for the wait.

  3. Sip your coffee or tea and put your feet up. Consider this your forced quiet time.

  4. Someone will eventually answer the phone. Tell them your Weebly woes; get your questions answered!

Did this work for you?

Weebly is a good website platform with a lot of great features and I’ve created many websites for small businesses on this budget-friendly platform. It’s my hope that being forewarned about the slight inconvenience of preparing to talk to Support will head off any thoughts about abandoning your website entirely. And if you try this out and find I've missed any important information, please let me know.
